Looking back, it’s easy to see how much I’ve always enjoyed creating, crafting and making. Especially if it involved paper and lettering. Handmade cards for family and friends, signs for events, place cards for parties — count me in! But turning that passion into a career? It never even crossed my mind. However, it’s funny how life unfolds and after working corporately for over a decade, here I am. And it’s been so much fun! The hardest part to date? Naming the company.

Oh, I researched and brainstormed and researched some more and came up with so many potential names. Most were decent, some were terrible, none were meaningful. And then one day, it came to me so easily. You see, I create most of my work, using ink, on a reclaimed cypress wood table that my Dad and I built together in 2013. And just like that, Ink on Cypress Calligraphy was born!

All of the pieces that I create for my clients are completely custom and meticulously hand-crafted. I understand that calligraphed work is special and that’s why I collaborate with and guide my clients every step of the way.
